How to Play Dordle
Type any five letter word and hit enter. That one word lands in both grids. The left grid grades it for the left word. The right grid grades it for the right one. Two sets of colors, one single try.
Green means the letter is in the right spot in that grid. Yellow means the letter is in that word but sits in the wrong spot. Gray means it is not in that word at all. Each grid tells its own story, so read both.
You get seven tries to crack both words. I got my first win on try six and I did a tiny lap of my room. You have more tries than a plain wordle game, but you need them, since one try can only tell you so much.
Dordle Tips for Two Grids
Two grids want two plans. Or do they? My tips:
- Start wide. Open with a word rich in common vowels. It feeds both grids at once.
- Read both grids each turn. A yellow in one grid and a green in the other is a normal round here. Do not let it rattle you.
- Chase the easy word. Solve one grid, then use its spent keys as a map for the other.
- Watch gray keys. Gray in one grid may still live in the other, since each word is its own. Two colors per key, two truths.
- Count your tries. Seven sounds like a lot. It is not. By try five you want both words half done.
